Deadlift 1RM Calculator

How do you estimate your deadlift 1RM?

Enter the weight you pulled and the reps you completed with full lockout. The calculator estimates your one-rep max using five common equations and shows their average.

Calculated Estimated Max
261 lbs

Example: 315 lbs for 3 reps on the deadlift

The five equations estimate a deadlift 1RM of 347 lbs (Epley), 334 lbs (Brzycki), 338 lbs (Lander), 352 lbs (Lombardi) and 359 lbs (Mayhew). Their average is 346 lbs.

Choosing a set for your deadlift estimate

  • Use a set where each rep reached full lockout. Low rep counts (about 1 to 5) keep the equations in close agreement.
  • Decide whether reps are dead-stop or touch-and-go and use the same style every time you test.
  • Count only reps with the same grip and setup.

Mixing dead-stop and touch-and-go sets can change your rep counts, which changes the estimate, so keep the style consistent.
