Squat 1RM Calculator

How do you calculate your squat 1RM?

Enter the weight you squatted and the number of reps you completed with consistent depth. The calculator applies five common 1RM equations and shows each result plus their average as a planning estimate.

Calculated Estimated Max
261 lbs

Example: 275 lbs for 5 reps on the squat

The five equations estimate a squat 1RM of 321 lbs (Epley), 309 lbs (Brzycki), 313 lbs (Lander), 323 lbs (Lombardi) and 327 lbs (Mayhew). Their average is 319 lbs.

Choosing a set for your squat estimate

  • Pick a set where every rep hit the same depth and the set ended close to technical failure. Keep the rep count at about 10 or fewer.
  • Do not count reps where depth or bar path clearly broke down.
  • If you plan to attempt a heavy single, set safety pins or use a spotter.

Define your depth standard before you test and keep it the same, so your estimates stay comparable over time.
